I do waive and release any claims against the Institute of Spanish Studies and host schools abroad for any injury, loss, damage, accident, delay or expense resulting from the use of any vehicle, any strikes, war, weather, sickness, quarantine, government restrictions or regulations or arising from any act or omission of any steamship, airline, railroad, bus company, taxi service, hotel, dormitory, restaurants, school, university, or other firm, agency, company, or individual. I also release the Institute of Spanish Studies and agree to indemnify them with regard to any financial obligations or liabilities that I may personally incur or any damage or injury to person or property of others that I may cause while participating in the Program.
I understand that the Institute of Spanish Studies are not responsible for, and I release the Institute from any claims for, any injury or loss whatever suffered by me during my participation in any aspect of the Program.
I hereby grant to the Institute of Spanish Studies full authority to take whatever action they may consider to be warranted under the circumstances regarding my health and safety, and I release each of them from any liability for such decisions or actions as may be taken in connection therewith. I authorize and/or the Institute of Spanish Studies and its agents, at their discretion to place me for my welfare at my own (or my parent’s) expense and without my further consent and without my parent’s further consent in a hospital within or outside of my country for medical services and treatment, or if no hospital is readily available, to transport me back to my country by commercial airline or otherwise, at my own expense or at my parent’s expense, for medical treatment. In the event the Institute of Spanish Studies or its agents advance or loan any monies to me or incur special expense on my behalf while I am abroad, I and my parents agree to make prompt repayment.
I will comply with the rules, standards and instructions for participants behavior for the Program. I agree to indemnify the Institute of Spanish Studies against any consequences of my failure to comply with such rules, standards and instruction. I agree that the Institute of Spanish Studies shall have the right to enforce appropriate standards and that they may at any time terminate my participation in the program for failure to maintain these standards or for any action or conduct which they consider to be detrimental to, or incompatible with, the interest, harmony, and welfare of other students. If my participation is terminated I consent to be sent home at my own or my parent’s expense, with no refund of fees.
On group tours or other activities arranged by the Institute of Spanish Studies I will accept the will of the majority whatever matter of choice is presented to the group. I will also accept in good faith the instruction and suggestions of the Institute of Spanish Studies in all matters relating to the Program or the personal conduct of Program participants. I understand that from time to time publicity material may include statements by its students and/or their photographs and I consent to such use of my comments and photographic likeness.
I understand that the Institute of Spanish Studies reserve the right to cancel, change or substitute programs in cases of emergency, changed conditions, the interest of each group, insufficient number of participants, or otherwise to change initial campus and advisor assignments, and to make alterations in the Program and its activities and itineraries, as may be in the judgment of the Institute of Spanish Studies. In addition, I understand that fees and logistics are based on certain factors over which the Program has no control such as changes in currency exchange rates, tariffs, curriculum, inflation of other basic costs or strikes, revolutions, wars, and are subject to change.
I understand that the Institute of Spanish Studies are relieve of all li ability for items lost in delivery by mail or otherwise.
All references to my parent shall include each of my parents, my legal guardians, and other adults responsible for me. I have read the terms and conditions set forth in this agreement/release and understand they constitute a part of my agreement with the Institute of Spanish Studies. I understand and agree to the terms relating to refunds for program applicants set forth in the application.
All cancellations must be notified in writing, if they are not correctly notified the course will not be considered as cancelled.
In case of cancellations due to documented medical reasons, the entire payment including the deposit (150€) will be refunded.
No money will be returned for classes missed because of the student’s fault.
For cancellations received up to one month before the start of the course, the ISS will refund all amounts paid, except the deposit (150€).
Between one month and one week before the start of the course, all amounts will be refunded minus 25% retained as cancellation fee.
One week or less before the start of the course all amounts will be refunded minus 40% retained as cancellation fee.
In the event that the application for a Visa is refused by the Spanish Embassy or Consulate, we will refund the paid fees after the deduction of an administrative charge of 150 euros, once we receive a copy of the refusal letter from the Spanish Embassy.
The ISS reserves the right to cancel or modify courses:
The ISS may change the schedule of courses and will not be responsible for classes canceled for reasons beyond our control.
The ISS reserves the right to cancel courses in cases of acts of God, lack of participants, cancellations or alterations in the courses or programs, in which case students will be offered an alternative and will be able to choose between accepting the change or requesting a full refund of payment, minus the amount corresponding to classes and lodging already enjoyed.
There will be no classes on holidays. There will be no compensation for such days, only private lessons will be made up. National and local holidays may be subject to change, please consult with us for the exact dates before registering.
The minimum age for the courses is 18 years.
Minimum 5 and maximum 12 students per group.
The student should inform him/herself of the need to obtain a visa, depending on the nationality and the intended length of the stay in Spain. It is the student’s responsibility to obtain a visa, if needed. The ISS will send the student a letter of acceptance of the registration for the course after the deposit has been received. This letter will be needed to obtain the visa.
If you plan to travel abroad once you are in Spain, we recommend that you inform yourself of the visa requirements for the countries you plan to visit.
It is obligatory to attend classes, activities and excursions.
Students must be timely for classes and activities and complete daily class assignments if any. Failure to do so will reflect directly on the grade.
It is mandatory to abide by these Rules of the student. All students should keep a correct conduct.
The Administration of the ISS is authorized to control all matters of discipline. This includes the right to expel from the program any student whose moral or academic conduct so requires.
The ISS reserves the right to cancel or modify courses.
The ISS may change the schedule of courses and will not be responsible for the cancellation of a class due to circumstance beyond their control.
In the event that there are cancellations during the course and the minimum number of students is no longer reached, there will be the possibility for the student of changing to another course or the payment will be refunded except the amount for the classes and lodging already enjoyed.
The ISS reserves the right to cancel a course when there are insufficient registrations and to change the student to other courses. If such a change is proposed and not accepted by the student, he/she may request the refund of all money paid including the deposit.
There will be no classes on holidays. There will be no compensation for those days, only private classes will be made up. If there are 2 holidays in the same week, one of them will be made up. The Institute will have no responsibility in cases of theft or loss of objects in the Institute, nor for illness, personal injuries, or death occurred while a student is in a course.
